Will callers know it’s an AI?
It introduces itself the way you tell it to. It doesn’t pretend to be a person, and it doesn’t need to — it answers naturally, in seconds, and gets the booking done.
What happens when it can’t answer something?
It says so honestly, takes the caller’s details, and passes the conversation to you — by text or a live transfer if you’re available. It never bluffs an answer.
What if I want to take over a conversation myself?
You can. Every conversation is visible in your dashboard, and you can step in on chat at any time.
How long does setup take?
About ten minutes. You paste your website so Nuvox can learn what you do, set your hours, and get a phone number — which is issued straight away. Diverting your existing line to it is one short code you dial from your own phone.
Do I keep my existing phone number?
Yes. Your number stays exactly as it is, on your van and your website. You get a Nuvox number and set your own line to divert to it — either only when you don’t pick up, or all the time. Your dashboard gives you the exact code to dial for your network, and cancelling it takes one more.
What happens to my customers’ data?
Conversations are stored in London and shown in your dashboard. We never store call audio — speech becomes text as the call happens. The speech and AI providers that process a call in real time (Deepgram, OpenAI, Anthropic) operate in the US, which our privacy policy names in full. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used to train general-purpose AI models.
Does it book around jobs I already have?
Yes — that is the part most answering services skip. Nuvox checks what is already in your calendar, how long the job takes, and how far you would have to travel between them, then offers a time you can actually make. If a slot does not work, it is never offered in the first place.
What if I go over my minutes?
Nothing breaks. Every extra 10 minutes is £3, added automatically — the same rate on both plans, no cut-off mid-month and no penalty tier. If you go over consistently, the £35 plan works out cheaper per minute than paying overage on the £20 one.
